My real passion...

For those who know me well, know that my real passion is fabric & sewing. I hoard fabric. I dream fabric. I buy fabric that I will never cut because it is too beautiful. One of my favorite things to sew are bags. Unfortunately, being a working mom to 5 children (6, if you count my son's best friend that has been living with us since February), running around to piano lessons, football practice and cheer practice, I barely have time to sit and sew.

Hmmm, just looking at these bags that I have made, makes me want to go pull out the fabric and start sewing. Sadly, I am just too tired tonight. So, maybe tonight I will dream an idea for a new bag...or maybe a necklace....
Good night and sweet dreams.

A Better View...

I had posted these boots earlier, out of pure excitement of how cute they were. The picture was terrible! I have never claimed to be a photographer, that is for sure! Here is a much better photo of these adorable boots!
The black glitter boots have so much bling. And, you can't help but smile when you look at these beauties! Happy Tuesday!

Thanks Betsy!

A good friend of mine, Betsy, came over today and we had a great visit. She has decided to sell the line of food storage called Shelf Reliance. Betsy came over so she could teach me a little bit about this line of food storage. I highly recommend this food! If anyone has the desire to start their food storage, or wants to add to their food storage, you need to get in touch with Betsy, you can email her HERE. She would be happy to answer any questions you may have!

Well, on her way out, of course I had to show her some of the past kits and upcoming kits that we have available at Crafty Girls. Betsy went right for the Halloween Countdown Kit..look how stinking cute her countdown kit turned out...

Great job Betsy! Love it!

There are still 4 of these kits available if anyone is interested!

I had so much fun making up the October Tag Frame kit, that I went a step or two further...I made up the November and December Tag Frame kits today ~ and they turned out great!

Each of these kits will include the frame and everything you will need to make these great tag frames. The frames are 6x12 inches and would make a great addition to your holiday decorating! Have a great weekend!

Great Christmas Gift idea!

Who doesn't love calendars??? We have a great friend that just opened an ETSY site to sell her calendars. Her name is Sharon and she does some awesome work.

For those of you at the September crop, you will notice that her kit was available there. We just love her work. She has just opened an ETSY site called Worleybird Designs, so check it out! Remember, Christmas is right around the corner!

One More Day!

I am just thrilled about the crop tomorrow. Everything is set up and ready to go, the only thing missing are you crafty girls!

One thing I just love about "September" is that it just feels so natural to want to create for fall. Look at these great ideas for fall...

I found these little beauties at Delish. These little guys would look great in a glass container too!

I love to sew...those of you that know me, know that sewing is my first love. So, when I came across these fabric pumpkins, I knew I wanted to make them.

I found these fabric pumpkins Here. There is even a tutorial on how to make these beauties!

Happy Fall!

Craft Time is Approaching!

As we get closer to our Crafty Girls workshop this Saturday I wanted to give you some helpful information for the workshop.

1. You do not need to bring your Cricut...we will have two available for you to use. We will also have over 25 cartridges for your use.

2. There will be a sewing machine for you to use.

3. There will be a computer & printer available for you to journal.

4. As with any crop, sometimes space can be an issue. Please think about what you are bringing and pack well! There are a lot of tools, punches, etc here for you to use so you won't need to bring those things. If you want to find out if the tool you would like to use is available, just contact us and we will let you know if we have it! You will each be sharing a 6ft table with a neighbor.

5. Please bring a cup with lid for your drinks. I would hate for you to antique your neighbor's work! Barb, this advice is for you :)

6. Maybe bring a light sweater...that sounds really silly since it is over 100 degrees, but we will be running the a/c and sometimes it does get chilly!

7. We will have lots of craft kits, card kits & page kits available for purchase. Most of these kits will make great home decor and/or gifts for the holidays. It is never too early to think about Christmas!

8.  Even though we are providing lunch, dinner and dessert, feel free to bring any snacks that you wish. ( I know I have a hard time scrapping w/o my hot tamales!)

9.  We are offering sign ups to you first for the October 9th crop. We will send the registration out to everyone else Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. So, if you think that you would like to sign up, be prepared to do so! This crop filled up fast!

10. Last but not least...prepare to have a great time! We are so excited that you have chosen to spend your day with us.

OOPS! Misspelled word....

OK, it is late, I am tired and I goofed up. In the email that all you confirmed guests received has a misspelled word in it. I have one BFF that loves to point out when I misspell something...she let me know 2 seconds after sending the email. So, please forgive me for misspelling CREAM...I was thinking how good a cream puff would taste right now, and I guess I didn't want the word cream to end, so I added an E.
Who could blame me!

Let the week begin!

Mondays are so much easier to handle when you have something to look forward to! We hope you are all looking forward to Saturday's crop, I know we are! We thought maybe we would play a little game this week...just to see who is following our blog. Sometime between now and Saturday's crop, we will throw in a secret word, just something out of the ordinary. First one on Saturday to tell us the secret word...BAM, you win a prize. Don't worry, the prize won't be quite big enough to pay taxes on! ;)

For those of you that are confirmed for the crop, check your email! We sent out some information via email.

Have a great Monday!

1 More Week!

Hi Ladies! We are making the final preparations for our fantastic crop this Saturday. Be sure to get a good night sleep next Friday night, because you are going to need all your energy for Saturday!

Just a reminder, we will have several different types of kits for you to purchase. These kits will make great gifts (remember, Christmas is only 104 days away!) for friends and family.

Also, if you are a confirmed guest of this crop, an email will be going out on Monday with all the final information for the crop...directions, menu and much more. There are still kits available too for the Back to School clipboard if you would like to sign up.

12 More Sleeps!

That's right, just twelve more sleeps. Hopefully everyone is starting to think about what they want to work on at the Crafty Girls crop. We are putting finishing touches on some really fun stuff.

I mentioned last week that I was going to the BEST craft fair ever, Swiss Days in Midway, Utah. Yes, I went. Yes, I spent too much money. Yes, I forgot to take pictures to show you! I am so bummed. Even though I don't have great pictures to show you, I can tell you that I brought home some great ideas. Along the way to Swiss Days we stopped at every scrap store between Vegas and Salt Lake. We discovered a great store in Cedar City, Utah. It is called Scrap Gal. Her store is great, and her prices are even better. The best part is...Scrap Gal has an online store too! http://www.scrapgal.com/. Be sure to check it out!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! We hope that you are getting your scrap bags together! We are so anxious to get to meet new friends. We are most excited to see all the different styles that everyone has. Do you know your style? Romantic, simple & clean, rustic, glitter & bling? That is what is so great about scrapping and crafting, you can create beautiful things regardless of what your style is!

Happy weekend!

Here is another teaser for you...

Irene is off to Swiss Days (the BEST craft show ever!) and she is going to be searching the entire Salt Lake City valley for great ideas for crafts.
