More Crafting Aprons

This past Saturday I got an order for several crafting aprons, and I had 3 aprons on order before that, so I figured I better get a move on and get the aprons made! The  gals that bought the aprons Saturday came into my workshop and picked out their own fabric for their aprons. It was fun! Tonight I finished three of the aprons and I thought it would be fun to share with you!

Here are the fabric choices for the first three that I made...
WOWZA, look how fun! And, if you knew these gals like I do, you would agree when I say, these fabrics fit these gals perfectly!
The first one is a fun hot pink polka dot with a zebra ruffle and black and white waist band and ties. LOVE IT!
I wish my camera would have taken better pictures, but this apron is just adorable...pinks and browns.
Look how sweet! No pun intended of course, but let's face it, this is a sweet apron!

All of the aprons have the "crafting pocket" going across the front. The pocket is big enough for pens, cell phone, scissors - you know all the stuff we lose under our paper when we are crafting! :)

I hope you all have entered to win your very own crafting apron HERE!

Project Gone Wrong!

Have you ever had an idea in your head and translating to reality sometimes is difficult? Well, that is what happened to me tonight. I had the idea of a super cute ruffled heart on a baby onsie. It started out ok...
I picked out the fabrics I wanted to use.
I cut the fabric into three quarter inch stripes.
Yes, I know, I should have stopped here. This looks like a hot mess!
Actually, I thought that after trimming the edges and placing the heart to the onsie that the project could be salvaged.
NO WAY! Embroidery gone bad! YUCK YUCK YUCK! I had such high hopes for this idea that was in my head....I think I am going to go to bed.

I was so frustrated that my idea didn't work out, that I knew what I had to do. I needed to sew a bag! Because of the frustration level...I was not planning on blogging the bag I made tonight, so I didn't take any picture of making the bag. But, after I was done with the bag, I wished I would have taken pictures to show you, because I LOVE IT!
If you are a red/black and white fan, you will love this bag!
I added some felt flowers to the front of the bag for some whimsy.
I love the contrast of the fabrics!
There are four big pockets!
I think this would make a great bag for church, work or even a knitting bag.
The bag measures approximate 12.5 inches wide, 10 inches tall and three inches deep. Perfect size for a few books, crafts or binders.
The back of the bag is cute too!

Ok, now I can go to bed calm!

New Year, New Calendar

Who doesn't love a new calendar? I have an obsession of sorts with calendars. My husband teases me because every three months or so, I "need" a new calendar. With it the start of a new year, I wanted a new calendar for my office. So, tonight, this is what I came up with...
I absolutely LOVE the colors! I made the calendar using a 11x14 piece of metal as the base, and built up from there.

The flowers have a 3-D effect on the side.

The months can be changed out with the magnets.

I put an envelope on the back of the calendar that will hold the months when not in use. I plan on saving the "used" months as a type of a journal.

I will hang the calendar on the wall using the ribbon I strung through the top. I also plan on changing out the picture every month. I am very happy with how this calendar turned out!

New Bags~

Do you all remember this bag I made a couple of weeks ago?
Well, this bag was a big hit at the craft show last weekend. It was the first bag that every customer picked up. Early in the show a gal came by the booth, and she loved this bag. She bought the bag for herself and I was so happy that she bought it because it feels good when someone buys your product, and you just know that they love it. Anyway, she came back at the end of the craft show and wanted another one, just like it. She thought her friend would like one too. I panicked. I hardly had anymore of the "cowgirl" fabric. Monday I went right back to the quilt shop where I bought this fabric. And...they didn't have anymore. So, I made it work with what I had....

I think it turned out just as cute! Thank goodness~

I was really in a sewing mood last night, so I finished up a bag for a girlfriend of mine....

I think that this bag is great! I love all the Amy Butler fabrics together! Hope you like your bag Tamela! :)

All in all, a successful sewing night!

Christmas Family Photo Display

Tonight I turned a plain 12x12 canvas into a family photo display. I wanted to do something unique with this year's family photo. Our oldest son will be gone for the next two Christmases, so I wanted something special to display this year's photo.

I love this year's line from Making Memories called Noel so I knew I wanted to use that paper. It has been a long time since I broke out the scrapbook paint and chipboard letters.

So, I turned this...
into this...

The colors are perfect for my home. There is a Christmas feel to the canvas, but I think it would look great up all year round!

Now, it's your turn, go turn your family picture into a great display for your home!

Off to a Craft Show!

I am participating in my first craft show. Not sure if it will be my cup of tea~ but the only way to find out is to do one. So, I spent the better part of this week at night working on things for the show. Thought I would share what my dining room table looks like...
There is still some things that I could not fit on the table!

I love how this chunky "JOY" block set turned out!

Oh, my little army of Vegas Snowmen! Stinking cute! :)

Have a great weekend and wish me luck!
